Against Sotus the Usurer
S OTUS liues well, they say; that's richly liues
But gets his wealth by vsury and wiues:
The death of wiues hath made him better liue,
And vsury hath taught him how to thriue:
So twixt them two he now liues well (they say)
For he doth nothing els but watch and pray:
He watecheth like a woolfe his prey to catch.
And then he praies on that which he did watch:
Thus he with watching and with praying too
Liues well, yet doth he but as deuils doo.
