Bermudian Honey

Between where dwells the violet
And where the rose is found,
Is placed my bed of mignonette,
With lavender around.

The violet and rose are bright
Beyond the praise of all,
Yet bees, in search of rich delight,
Upon them never call.

About plain maids, the livelong day,
Are heard their busy wings;
The kisses that they bear away
Make sweet the feasts of kings.
