The Book

Life , I have made a book of my mistakes;
Regret hath clasped and Sin hath blotted it
And therein are my blunders clearly writ.

And therein do I find much knowledge hid—
Wisdom that layeth hold of every sense
With the strong grasp of grim experience.

And would you study with me? Nay, my friend,
Not one may read and benefit thereby
In all the world, not one—save only I.
