Year

The tree sheds its leaves,

yet stands tall,

for it knows its season will return.

When storms strike,

trying to uproot it,

it clings tighter,

its roots digging deep

into the earth of its own strength.

It trembles, bends,

hangs in quiet endurance,

because even in the darkest clouds,

it senses the sun’s rays

breaking through.

It survives.

It grows.

It rises.
