The Case of the heart a-bleed who shall speak again?

The case of the heart a-bleed who shall speak again?
From heaven the blood of the jar who shall seek again?

The tipsy narcissus in all wine-worshippers' eyes
Be shamed, into bloom if it venture to break again!

Save the cask-dwelling Stoic of wine, the mystic speech
Of philosophy's secrets who shall speak again?

Let whoso cup-passer-around, like the tulip, is
For this tyranny wash in blood his cheek again!

O many's the word in the veil that the harp doth speak!
Its tress come cut, that it may not shriek again.

My heart, if the tulip-hued cup it scent once more,
Would ope, like the rose-bud, unto its reek again.

By his head, so he may, will Hafiz compass round
The Holy House of the wine-cask eke again!
