The Conqueror

I have no patience with the man who says,
" Another day is gone. "
Give me the man who sings in the thick night,
" It's almost dawn! "

I have no patience with the man who holds
Life as a beggar's tale,
Give me the man with iron will to climb
And courage not to fail.

He dies indeed who never sees the sun,
Nor hears the song of rain,
But his is immortality on earth,
Who make each loss his gain!
