On the Death of the Worthy Knight, Sir William Browne, Knight of the Bathe
On the death of the worthy Knight, Sir William Browne Knight of the Bathe.
Both Browne and bright he was while Earth was his
Now onely bright he is in fame and blisse;
Wit, courage, bounty (three that dwell in none
But in bright fames superlatiues alone)
In him did hold the glory of their state,
Which thus his memory perpetuate:
Hee bath'd in streames of brightnesse being Browne,
And dying Browne, liues stil in bright renowne.
