Dick

1.

Dick left the Cock, at twelve o'clock;
'Twas dark, but Dick was brave;
He met a ghost, that said to him,
" I'm Death, thou drunken knave!
And if thou dost not mend, by G-d,
I can't sleep in my grave. "

2.

" What dost thou out of it " said Dick,
" At half-past one o'clock? "
And with his trusty oaken stick,
He gave him a great knock:
" Thou'st kill'd thy wife, Dick, " whined the ghost,
Unghosted by the shock.
