At a party they cry, " Oh, here comes Carol! "
And in someone comes in a man's apparel!

It's signed on the letter, but I have to ask,
Is it Hilary fem. or Hilary masc?

Fellows named Joyce and females named Jeremy
Cause confusion at the marriage cerem'y;
There's a Shirley he and a Shirley fe male —
How on earth can a Shirley he male be male?

Men are named Beverly, women named Frankie —
Ycleptomaniacal hanky-panky!
Women named Leslie and men named Evelyn —
Sometimes I don't know what to believel in!

Imagine a boy with a name like Florence
Hiding in corners and crying in torrence!
I knew another — they called him Jocelyn —
A situation I'd not be docilyn!

To make doubly sure his life will be dismal,
Name a boy Vivian at his baptismal;
It's shaking your fist at man and nature
To label a boy with such no-manclature!

With Marian " a " and with Marion " o "
At least you have something on which you can go;
When there's Frances with " e " and Francis with " i "
You can easily tell the girl from the guy.

My friend had a mate of the female kidney,
But he introduced her as Sidney, did'n he?
How far will they go with this vagary?
Will they call girls John? Will they call boys Mary?
