Enamoured nymph, whose faithful voice, Th'

Th'enamoured Nymph, whose faithful voice
Her loved Narcissus' words repeated,
Was sure a type of Henry's choice,
Tho' he nor vain nor self-conceited!

Each kiss he sends with kindness winning
She echoes by a kiss as fond; —
Nature prevents her from beginning,
But lets her sweetly correspond.

Three hundred miles too intervene,
And maiden modesty relieve,
The blushes ne'er by Henry seen
She trusts her lover will conceive.
