Classic Poem

To write an epic or a novel
Seems straightforward work to me—
By conscientious indentation
The beaver bevels down the tree;

But, with the imprecisive arrow
The intended acorn fairly struck—
Such is epigram, requiring
Wit, occasion, and good luck!
