Epigram, On Giving the Name of Georgia to a Part of Carolina

While, rip'ning slow, the future purpose lay,
And conscious silence plann'd th' op'ning way;
Kind , o'er the rising scheme, an angel hung,
And dropt this counsel , from his guardian tongue.

Wish you, this way , the royal pair inclin'd?
To Carolina be a Georgia join'd —
Then, shall both colonies sure progress make,
Endear'd to either , for the other's sake;
Georgia shall Carolina 's favour move;
And Carolina bloom, by G EORGE'S love.
