The Epitaph
Who ere thou art that passest by, forbeare
To question who lies here
Till thou hast paid
A Teare,
And on his tombe an offring laid.
Then know beneath this stone
Lies one,
Who for the worst of fate reserv'd,
Was in the midst of plenty starv'd,
And to himselfe the joyes he held, denied;
Thus both loves Heretick and Martyr died.
To question who lies here
Till thou hast paid
A Teare,
And on his tombe an offring laid.
Then know beneath this stone
Lies one,
Who for the worst of fate reserv'd,
Was in the midst of plenty starv'd,
And to himselfe the joyes he held, denied;
Thus both loves Heretick and Martyr died.
