A Farewell

Sweet soul, fare on thy way,
I cannot tread for thee
The path that leads to day,
The path thou canst not see:
Fare on thy lonely way.

But know, whate'er betide,
If sad the journey seem,
Though never at thy side,
I dwell within thy dream:
Know this, whate'er betide.

And at the journey's end,
Lo I, from whom you go
Around love's world to wend
A way none else may know,
Will meet you at the end.
