Only to see good, not evil,
Only to feel sun, not rain,
Only to sense spring, not autumn,
Binds man to his earthly plane.

Only to hear song, not discord,
Only to know day, not night,
Only to taste sweet, not bitter,
Makes man a coward in the fight.

But to pierce the clouds with vision,
Keeping courage in the soul,
Climbing up in the face of failure,
Lifts man to his goal!
