Classic Poem

When ruin some loose scoundrel brings
Upon your honest fame,
Vengeance nor heals your bleeding heart
Nor clears the branded shame.

But if to shoot you down beside
He does the best he can,
You've all the “satisfaction” then
That's “due to a gentleman!”
