HYMN 38. L.M. The Courage of Faith
My soul, unfetter'd by the skies,
Or aught the fruitful earth conceals,
On faith's broad wings to heav'n would fly
The heav'n where my Redeemer dwells.
There, while the Godhead he displays
Through human beauty, void of fear,
And give my bosom to the blaze
With all the beams which center there!
There, I would call my Jesus mine,
While seraphs " Holy, holy," cry;
And meet the smile of love divine,
Though cloth'd in peerless majesty.
Or aught the fruitful earth conceals,
On faith's broad wings to heav'n would fly
The heav'n where my Redeemer dwells.
There, while the Godhead he displays
Through human beauty, void of fear,
And give my bosom to the blaze
With all the beams which center there!
There, I would call my Jesus mine,
While seraphs " Holy, holy," cry;
And meet the smile of love divine,
Though cloth'd in peerless majesty.
