Classic Poem

" Written when he was well over eighty " :
I've picked a grave site,
assuming the time is near —
on autumn hills,
among the mugwort roots,
pine crickets sing

Tangled in neglect,
the autumn garden is mournful —
more so at evening
with the dew about to fade
