Jesus the Carpenter

Jesus the Carpenter
Shifted his load,
Smiled on the multitude
Coming down the road.

Jesus the Carpenter
Set down his tools,
Called to the little ones,
Questioned the fools.

Jesus the Carpenter
Held out his hand,
Blessing the fishermen
Who came from the sand

Now in the churches,
One day in seven,
Bishops and rich men
Talk about heaven!
