The Legislature

See commons, peers, and ministers of state,
In solemn council met, and deep debate!
What Godlike enterprise is taking birth?
What wonder opens on th' expecting earth?
'Tis done! with loud applause the council rings!
Fixed is the fate of whores and fiddle-strings!
