And may who enter these benignant walls
Share in that influence serene that falls
From these high-sphered souls: within these halls

Be ever peace, calm reason, high desires,
The love of truth ungarnished, the white fires
Of pure ambition, and what else inspires

To selfless service. Breathe from your vast
Domain, O holy spirits of the past!
On hearts by grief and doubting overcast.

Let our bewildered steps be led by you;
Reveal whate'er ye dared discover true;
And what ye fain had done, teach us to do.
