Lifes passing bell wakes not a deeper sigh

Lifes passing bell wakes not a deeper sigh
Then the remembrances of days gone bye
O thou mysterious past from time set free
What hopes joys fears lie buried all in thee
All dwelt on thee till every hope was gone
& fancy cold as winter left alone
Like way worn traveller on a mossy stone
I look before a cold & dreary doom
Leads me on reckless to the fate to come
I look behind & like to Adam find
Too late what eden was I left behind
