Lines to a Graduate

Written for a reception given in honor of the Orangeburger who graduated in 1904.
In ev'ry race, in ev'ry clime,
In ev'ry rank or station,
The people always take the time,
To honor education.

How nice it is to graduate
Our thoughts and actions elevate,
It gives us leaders who will stand,
For truth and right on ev'ry hand.
