Lovers

The white rose and the red rose,
Either side the garden gate,
Though in love with one another,
Were so sadly separate,
But when summer-time was ended,
They no longer were alone,
For their faded leaves together
To the sodden turf were blown.

The white rose and the red rose,
Either side the garden gate,
Though in love with one another,
Were so sadly separate,
But when summer-time was ended,
They no longer were alone,
For their faded leaves together
To the sodden turf were blown.
