Maiden Bloom

Where the youthfid rivals meet—
Reddest Rose, and whitest Snow—
From a trysting-place so sweet,
Which will soonest go?
“Hence with life alone I stray,”
Blushed the flower of balmy breath.
“Mine,” the snow-wreath sighed, “to stay
Steadfast e'en in death.”
