Meditation for the Lord's-Day Morn
Unto thy House, my God, I go,
To be instructed there;
Give me an understanding Mind,
And an attentive Ear!
A Heart to love thy sacred Truths,
A Mem'ry to retain,
By every Sermon that I hear,
Some useful Knowledge gain.
Oh! may I join in social Prayer,
And Worship thee in Spirit;
Knowing that every Mercy flows
Thro' my Redeemer's Merit.
And may thy Praises warm my Heart;
And when I, from thy House depart,
Impress each Truth upon my Mind,
That future blessings I may find.
To be instructed there;
Give me an understanding Mind,
And an attentive Ear!
A Heart to love thy sacred Truths,
A Mem'ry to retain,
By every Sermon that I hear,
Some useful Knowledge gain.
Oh! may I join in social Prayer,
And Worship thee in Spirit;
Knowing that every Mercy flows
Thro' my Redeemer's Merit.
And may thy Praises warm my Heart;
And when I, from thy House depart,
Impress each Truth upon my Mind,
That future blessings I may find.
