BROKEN

Now, after all this time, my heart has spoken
Emotions leaking out on a cold tiled floor
But still beating in my breast, it is broken

I should have realised a long time before
Tensions building up almost until they snap
So few pleasantries survive in such a war

The end finally came as a thunderclap
As a bright lightning strike that suddenly came
A shocking bolt from the blue that sprung the trap

They keep telling me it was not a surprise
I was just immune and deaf to all those lies
