Porridge, that start of day meal,
one makes by heating,
or boiling in good measure,
typically grain,
that is chopped, ground, crushed,
taste bud sweet,
dish!

When choosing a cereal,
weigh up all those brands,
make sure they meet your standards,
please read the labels,
think before you buy,
eat good food,
please!

Now that you’ve informed yourself,
there’s little to fear,
overnight soak if it suits,
or cook on waking,
add nuts, fruit, honey
munch away
friend!
