IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE WE LEFT THAT PLACE,
THE UNIVERSITY WE THOUGHT WAS SUCH A WASTE.
"SMALL CAMPUS," WE'D GROAN, "NOTHING EVER GOES ON,"
BUT NOW LOOKING BACK, THOSE DAYS ARE GONE.
WHEN WE STEPPED OUT INTO THE OUTER WORLD,
WE REALIZED HOW LIFE HAD SLOWLY UNFURLED.
NO WORRIES, NO RUSH, JUST A SIMPLE ROUTINE,
CLASSES AT NINE, BACK HOME BY THREE.
SPORTS AT FOUR, WITH FRIENDS WE'D PLAY,
AND CHAT FOR HOURS TILL THE END OF DAY.
WHAT ONCE FELT BORING, WE NOW MISS SO MUCH,
THE LAUGHTER, THE MOMENTS, THE CASUAL TOUCH.
I STILL SEE THE PICTURES I TOOK BACK THEN,
IN EFLU'S CORNERS, WITH ALL OF MY FRIENDS.
AND I WONDER, CAN WE LIVE IT ONCE MORE?
BEFORE LIFE TOOK US TO DIFFERENT SHORES.
