I wished upon a dying star
That drowned in a shining sea
And never--now or ever
Will it grant my wish to me
My wish had struck the falling star
For my wish was too big for thee--
And so thus soon the dying star
Plunged into the shining sea
My wish that I had wished
Was more than selfish, see
For I wished upon the plunging star
For one to fall for me
Nay, yet not for his love I wished
Upon this star that flew gracefully
Yet for his feelings to shine truthfully--
His feelings--about me
Yet, yay! Perhaps I see a light
It shines so beautifully
Perhaps my dying star has arose
To grant my wish to me!
It rose upon the blackened sky
Shining ever so brightly
My wish could perhaps be fuffiled
My wish after all about thee...
Yet, nay, I soon awake
From the dream cursed upon me
When I wished, the star did truly die
And granted my wish to me...
Alas, I still lay here
Its water grave haunting me
And never--shall I ever retain
My final dying wish from the sea
