The journey begins with just thoughts,
Visions existing only in the mind
Of yet uncreated kicks and laughs and burps
Of a beauty yet to be beholden,
A bundle of joy and excitement
A long awaited little brother.
The wait has been long, almost aborted
Yet the unending stream of existence,
Of minute by minute yearning pushed against the door that won't budge,
To release the trapped entity,
The little companion so much yearned for.
Oh! But it is not for you
It is for my kids!
We created him in our minds,
Dreamed of and visualized his cry and play
Even his moments of suckle;
He has become a dream almost tangible,
For me and my kids.
Names line up to welcome and christen the wonder boy,
You have a huge role to play
Yet, you alone, could not have made it happen,
You lost the charm and power of persuasion
That once was perpetually my undoing,
Left to you alone, I would not welcome him
It is for my kids
For their need of just one more
To populate their circle,
The more, the merrier.
I must have jumped a wide expanse of steps
To be where I am today
From a dotting partner
To a nonchalant reservation,
Yet in between exists unspoken traumas
That tingle the ear;
Yes, I'll go through it one more time,
Just for my kids.
