As I stand there in the rain,
With ice running through my veins,
My family considering me a stain,
On the walls of gain.
Ever since I entered this crevasse,
My Father has abandoned me in this morass.
Why did you abandon me, O Lord?
Will you take me back, I'm feeling ignored?
My father appeared, said he loved me so dear,
But I couldn't feel it, just clouded by fear.
I focused on flaws, the hurt and the pain,
Lost in the shadows, in doubt and disdain.
I asked him, "How can I focus on light,
When my whole world is shadowed in night?"
He said, "Focus on me, my dear child,
And soon all the darkness will fade and turn mild."
Dear Lord, I love You, I know this is true,
But he left me, they left me, she left me too.
Everyone I cherished has gone away,
And here I am, alone to stay.
Now all that remains is a heart grown tired,
Lost and alone, with no will inspired.
The Lord uttered, "I am here, my child,
I’ll stay with you through every trial.
I’ll never leave, I’ll be your guide,
Forever and always, right by your side."
"Nor will I leave your side, my child,
In stormy seas or moments mild.
If you read these words, know this is true—
I’ll stand by you in all you do."
