Enshrouded in mystery are the ways of man, Unknown to him are his erring ways, Unravelled to him are his faltering steps, He is on a journey whose end is not in view, He is in a business whose pitfalls he knows not all, He just keeps his optimist antenna high, He is entangled to one, He is on a journey with one, The vicissitudes and misplaced pieces they can't see, We're given keys to unlock doors, We only have an unclear view of what lies behind, We enquire, We soul search, Only a part is revealed to us, Only a fragment we see, His light halos us, Like a searchlight, It goes ahead of us a few distances, Revealing to us only what He intends, Leaving the rest for us to decipher, Why this is, None can tell, We only walk hopefully in His light. 10th Place in Poetry Soup Contest.
