In shadows deep, I timidly creep,
With tiny paws, I leap and peep.
The world's my stage, so small and quaint,
Where dangers lurk, where fears acquaint.
A hunter stirs, a bell it rings,
Through hallowed halls, my spirit clings.
Its echoing chime, a haunting sound,
Awakens caution, I must stay bound.
Through nooks and crannies, I make my way,
Adventures woven in the dark's array.
Whiskers twitching, senses attuned,
I dance on whispers, dreams marooned.
A feline shadow, sleek and sly,
Prowls this realm where I reside.
The hunter, relentless, eyes ablaze,
A predator cloaked in cryptic ways.
Oh, how it taunts with its tinkling song,
Each chime brings fear, each note prolongs.
I scamper, scuttle, across the floor,
A race against time, to hide once more.
In silence, I hide, a trembling mouse,
Within the walls, my secret house.
The hunter stalks, its steps unseen,
In darkness we meet, our roles convene.
A chase ensues, the game now clear,
My heart pounds fast, my end is near.
Yet, the reader knows not the hunter's guise,
They're blind to the truth behind my cries.
With every leap, I dodge and sway,
In this ancient game we endlessly play.
But as the tale unfolds, the truth takes shape,
The hunter's bell reveals its final cape.
For in this verse, the curtain falls,
The secret revealed, the hunter calls.
A cat it was, with eyes of gold,
A predator's tale, so often told.
So remember well this little mouse's plight,
In words woven, darkness and light.
For even the smallest souls can weave a tale,
Of hunters and bells, of bravery unveiled.
