Once More

Once more on earth we meet again,
Yet not as in the past,
For years of loneliness and pain
A blight has o'er us cast.

My weary heart has throbbed and thrilled
Through spells of hope and fear,
But now is every wish fulfilled,
And Heaven seems kind and near.

And as you press me once again
Within your strong arms fold,
I wonder how much joy and pain
A woman's heart can hold.
