Out of Martiall to Maximus

Out of Martiall to Maximus.

E PIG . 124.

Will you be free? no (Maximus) you faine,
 But if you will, then by this meanes you may;
You may if you abroad to sup refraine,
If wine of common grapes thy thirst allay,
If lauish bowles of rich wines thou despise,
If with plaine country weedes content thou bee,
If vulgar lust the vulgar price suffize,
If little roomes be nothing lesse to thee:
 If so great pow're of minde to these thou bring;
 Thou shalt liue freer than the Parthian king.
