Paraphrase of a Psalm

Let us praise the Lord, my soul,
To the harp that He inspir'd!
Nor, till day shall cease to roll,
Of the endless theme he tir'd!

Let us fear , and love him still,
For his mercy, and his power!
Nor of life a moment spill,
Careless of the mortal hour.

Let us not in man confide!
Nor in his imperial throne!
Kings are crippled in their pride,
And their breath is not their own!
