A Pastoral Made in the Year 1715

Flocks are sporting,
Doves are courting,
Warbling linnets sweetly sing;
Joy and pleasure
Without measure,
Kindly hail the glorious spring.

Flocks are bleating,
Rocks repeating,
Valleys echo back the sound;
Dancing, singing,
Piping, springing,
Nought but mirth and joy goes round.
