Peace Be Still
'Tis night on Galilee,
And hearts are faint with fear;
Unmindful that no harm can be
When thou, the Lord, art near.
Forthwith, at thy behest,
The winds and billows cease,
And on the sea, and in each breast
There reigns a holy peace.
Thus toss'd on life's dark sea,
Where angry billows roll,
Oh, may I find. dear Lord, in thee,
Peace for my troubled soul.
Thou Lord of sea and land,
Naught can withstand thy will!
The tempest flees at thy command,
And winds and waves are still.
And hearts are faint with fear;
Unmindful that no harm can be
When thou, the Lord, art near.
Forthwith, at thy behest,
The winds and billows cease,
And on the sea, and in each breast
There reigns a holy peace.
Thus toss'd on life's dark sea,
Where angry billows roll,
Oh, may I find. dear Lord, in thee,
Peace for my troubled soul.
Thou Lord of sea and land,
Naught can withstand thy will!
The tempest flees at thy command,
And winds and waves are still.
