Primitive

Your eyes color of eyes
You are like a woman
Looking with dark eyes

You are not like
Evening nor any flowers
You are not like

Elephants
Nor clangor in golden pagodas
Of ignorant

Gongs
nor night
Withdrawing the wheels of wagons

You are not like
The moon upon grass
Agitated with leopards

Nor negroes danc-
ing in the moonlight
No
You are not different
You are not like

You do not make me think
Of Never Forever
You do not make me think

As if As though
You do not make me remember

I look at you

I think only your eyes
Dark the color of women
Your eyes like eyes
