Purananuru - Part 207

Rise up now, my heart! We are leaving. Those men who
do not truly exercise their skills may well wish for the rewards
offered by someone who scowls at them and feels no happiness
within him and acts as if he did not know you were standing
right there in front of him—a king without the enraptured
goodwill a benefactor should feel! One ought to say, “Come forward!”
to people who have worth! This world is a large one! Those
who care are legion! Get up, the force within you unrestrained,
as untamed as an ali with ferocious strength!
Who would choose to linger shriveling up inside,
ignored in public, to win a piece of raw fruit from an uncaring person!
