Purananuru - Part 334

Little rabbits with long ears, tiny feet, hair as fine
as the elephant grass growing in the beautiful reservoirs,
hide in the haystacks on a lovely field where children
whose heads are easily hurt begin to make noise in a courtyard
. . . . . . . . Afterwards . . . . . . . . . . city.
As she feeds bards and offers shelter to those who have come in need,
the wife does not turn from her work while the noise
of eating is heard nor the warrior with a strong sword from his work
of granting gifts to those who have come in need . . . . . . . . . .
a forehead ornament of gold
worn on the spotted face of an elephant with towering tusks.
