In the sky afar, afar,
Where spirits dwell,
I see a lone, lone star,
And feel its spell.

The holiest star of night,
Pensive it glows:
I know, by its mild, mild light,
It shares my woes.

I see, in its saintly smile
And radiant brow,
A seraph that knows no guile,
And renew my vow.
