The Richmond Taverns

The Star and Garter'd Knight of old,
When adverse Fate debarr'd him,
High on a rock contrived to hold,
" A castle's " strength to guard him.

But here war's chief in vain would try
To check a martial sally, —
The Star and Garter towers on high,
The Castle's in the valley.
