The Rose in Allusion to Guarini

As Cloris on her Cellidon bestowes
A purple Rose,
The virgin shame which her soft cheek did paint
Out blusht the plant,
At which the young Swaine smild and sued to have
Not the Rose in guift, but the Rose which gave.
