Sonet 2 -

Sonet 2.

Needs must I leaue and yet needs must I loue
In vayne my witt doth paynt in verse my woe
Disdaine in thee dispaire in me doth showe
How by my witte I doe my follie proue.

All this my heart from loue can neuer moue
Loue is not in my heart, no Lady no,
My hearte is loue it selfe; till I forgoe
My hearte, I neuer can my loue remoue.

How shall I then leaue loue? I do entend
Not to craue grace but yet to wish it still
Not to prayse thee, but beautie to commend
And so by beauties prayse, prayse thee I will
For as my heart is loue, loue not in me
So beautie thou beautie is not in thee.
