Theologue

Very well, then, if we
are in His image, He
must resemble us. Although
one wonders, if that's so,
what templates the lamb and the lion
aboriginally rely on;

or if it was not odd
to make Man from a clod
but Woman from a living
image of deity, giving
the superior pedigree ...
But that's as it may be:

Grant the resemblances
aren't our notion but His:
Would such a metaphor
imply our glory or
His being star-crossed,
His Eden also lost
and round Him the holocaust?
