Verses
I.
How blest are they whose deeds and words
Promote religion's ends,
And to his house, the Lord of Lords,
Together walk as friends:
II.
Who guide themselves by Christian laws,
With men of virtue join;
Who plead the helpless orphan's cause,
In works of mercy shine:
III.
Whose voices and whose hearts unite,
As brethren agree,
In friendly offices delight,
From all contention free.
IV.
When such their fleeting blasts of breath
And social joys resign,
Their next assembly, after death,
Will be where angels join.
C HORUS .
To him by whom all creatures live,
To Heav'n's immortal King,
Our grateful praises let us give,
Eternal glory sing.
