This Very Hour

If all the kind deeds never done
Should blossom into flower
The earth would be a paradise
This very hour.

And if the dear words never said
Found utterance to-day
The winter in a million hearts
Would turn to May.

If all our good intentions were
Pushed on to gracious deed
I think their power would promptly end.
The age of greed.
