Worry
A little hope, a lot of faith,
Are what we need today,
We learn from past experience
That worry does not pay.
We wring our hands and rack our brain
In moments of despair.
But all that worry does for us
Is bring us more gray hair.
For when the things we worry o'er
Are finally understood,
We do not find them half so bad
As first we thought we would.
So should our reason deem it wise,
Our worries we discard,
Then substitute a little hope
And lots of faith in God.
Are what we need today,
We learn from past experience
That worry does not pay.
We wring our hands and rack our brain
In moments of despair.
But all that worry does for us
Is bring us more gray hair.
For when the things we worry o'er
Are finally understood,
We do not find them half so bad
As first we thought we would.
So should our reason deem it wise,
Our worries we discard,
Then substitute a little hope
And lots of faith in God.
